When it's necessary to conceal the door panel, which is recessed 5/8" to accept drywall, this recessed access door's function is for flush installation in drywall surfaces. The door has a textured galvanized steel tape bead with pre-punched holes on the flange. One can apply the drywall compound over the beading simultaneously when doing the drywall joints. The AT-5020 is identical to the DW-5015 in acoustical ceilings but without the galvanized steel tape bead flange.
